By using the basic premise of resistance, strength training is the simple concept that allows your muscles to work against extra weigths to increase strength and grow the size and density of your muscles. Strength training has been around for centuries. There is a famous Russian olympic wrestler who used to train for strength by running in 3 feet of snow while carrying 200 pounds on his back. Although today we do not really use the same methods, the concept of strength training is still pretty much the same.
But before we get to know how to train for strength, it is crucial to grasp and make the difference between the 2 concepts of strength. Relative strength is the process of building strength to the maximum without taking diet into account, then,absolute strength is about becoming as strong as you can, regardless of your weight.
In order to Gain muscle strength, the muscle needs to be overloaded or pushed beyond it’s normal capacity. 2 ways to do this: either by incremental increase of the resistance or by the number of reps with a specific weight. So to build strength only you must train with heavy weigths but if you want to build endurance, then you should be lifting smaller weigths with higher number of reps.
